Following a channel on Kick is the simplest and most useful thing you can do as a viewer. On desktop you follow from the streamer's channel page. Open kick.com, sign in or create a free account, then go to the channel you want to follow by searching their name or clicking through from the browse page. You need to be signed in, because following is tied to your account.
On the channel page, the follow control sits near the streamer's name at the top of the stream. Click Follow and it switches to show you are now following. That is the whole process, and the streamer moves into your following list so their live streams surface for you.

Follow a channel in the Kick mobile app
In the app the steps mirror the website. Open Kick, sign in, and tap through to the channel you want, either from search or from the live and browse tabs. The channel page opens with the stream and the streamer's details.
Tap the Follow button by the streamer's name. The app confirms it and can offer to turn on live notifications, which is the part most people actually want, since it means your phone tells you when that streamer starts broadcasting.

What following actually does

Following versus subscribing
Following and subscribing are not the same thing, and the difference is money. Following is free and gives you notifications and a place in your following list. You do not have to subscribe to follow, and following is the natural first step. Many viewers follow dozens of channels and subscribe to only the few they want to support financially. If you are new to a channel, follow first and decide about subscribing later.

Managing and undoing a follow
Unfollowing is as quick as following. Return to the channel page, and the button that now reads Following will switch back to Follow when you click or tap it. You can do this any time, and the streamer is not notified when you unfollow.
If it is the notifications you want to change rather than the follow itself, look for the notification or bell control near the follow button, or adjust notifications in your account settings. That lets you stay following while turning the go live alerts up or down.
