Uploading at the right size keeps your images crisp and stops the platform from awkwardly cropping them. These are the current recommended dimensions for each placement.

Export at the exact pixel size shown (or a clean 2× multiple), keep key content within the safe area, and use PNG or high-quality JPG to survive each platform's compression.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best image size for social media?

It depends on the platform and placement. Square posts are 1080×1080, vertical stories and Reels are 1080×1920 (9:16), and YouTube thumbnails are 1280×720 (16:9). See the tables above for each platform.

What aspect ratio should I use?

1:1 for profile pictures and square posts, 9:16 for full-screen stories and short video, 16:9 for thumbnails and landscape video, and 1.91:1 for most link/share previews.

Will my image be compressed?

Every platform re-compresses uploads. Export at the exact recommended pixel size (or a clean multiple of it), use PNG or high-quality JPG, and keep important content away from the edges.
